Conceived to replace the Studio Series, the first Reference Series amplifier range was completed in 2001 — Zapco's first attempt to bring the qualities that built the Zapco legend to a line of amplifiers accessible to all. The response exceeded the company's wildest expectations.

The Reference Series was created not simply to offer an accessible amplifier, but the best amplifier in its price range — models in 1, 2, 4, and 6 channels with a classy design and selected internal components. Positioned a step above the Z-AP Series, these amps use higher-performance components to deliver listening quality as good as, or better than, other companies' most expensive amplifiers.
